Motivator
UI, UX, Web Development
2015

The design brief was to conceptualise and create a prototype for an app that relied on the use of a drone to enhance the capabilities and experience of exercise related activities. We devised our concept based on research conducted with potential users about their current exercise habits, motivations and use of existing technologies. Our prototype was developed and consistently updated based on insights from usability testing and user feedback.

Motivator is a drone with companion app that controls the pace and route of your running by using your music's volume as an incentive to keep up. During a workout, the drone measures the distance between itself and the user and communicates this to the app. The volume of the user's music is lowered based on the distance they are from the drone. When the user catches up to the drone, the volume is restored.

I was responsible for designing the companion app interface and building a functional prototype using web technologies to simulate the drone's actions.
